Description
Commercial and residential real estate signs can be seen on nearly every street, varying in size, and design. These signs are integral to the real estate sales process, alerting and attracting potential buyers and tenants. Commercial real estate signs normally consist of a large panel that is mounted on two 4x4x8’ or 4x4x10’ pressure treated posts. The real estate sign can be installed with the posts behind the sign faces or with the face between the posts. When installing a single-sided sign, the sign is almost always installed with the posts behind the sign face. When you need a double-sided sign to install perpendicular to the street, you can either sandwich the posts between the two single sided sign faces or mount a double-sided sign between the two posts with special mounting brackets. We normally recommend mounting two real estate signs back-to-back with the posts sandwiched between them, because this makes the sign structure much stronger. A third option would be to install the signs in a V-shape configuration where two sign faces are mounted at a 90-degree angle to each other using three posts. Some municipalities treat this as two separate signs or add the square footage of both signs when determining the size of the sign face, so check your local sign ordinance before installing a V-shape real estate sign on your property.
For commercial real estate signs, plywood (MDO) and composite aluminum panels are the products of choice because of their durability and rigidity at larger sizes. These materials can withstand high impact and maintain stability in fluctuating temperatures. At River City Advertising, we recommend the use of the composite aluminum over plywood since it does not rot nor attract bugs.
Our composite aluminum panels are 6mm MAXMETAL sheets. They are engineered with two pre-painted sheets of .21mm aluminum bonded to a solid polyethylene core. What sets MAXMETAL 6mm apart from other composite aluminum products is the .21mm thickness of the aluminum face and the thicker polyethylene core. Despite the increased thickness, MAXMETAL 6mm is still light in weight and is more durable than MDO and standard sheets of aluminum.
